The H2U Program (Health, Happiness, and You) at Parkland Medical Center, formerly known as Senior Friends, is hosting a health and membership benefits fair on Thursday, October 6, 2005 from 9:00a.m. to 11:30a.m for members, as well as those that wish to join the group. By becoming a member of Parklands H2U Program you can take advantage of the free blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings, and bone density testing that will be provided. The membership fair will also include door prizes, give-aways, and refreshments. We encourage all individuals to attend this event, take advantage of the screenings, and join in on all the H2U Program has to offer, said Donna Harris, H2U Director at Parkland Medical Center. Harris said Benefits of membership include national and local vendor discounts for travel, books, flowers, vision care and prescriptions, discounts in the hospitals cafeteria, a private hospital room if available, a national magazine and H2U bi-monthly newsletter, health screenings, day trips, dinners featuring guest speakers and quarterly luncheons with entertainment. There is a $15 fee per year to become a member, payable at the health fair. H2U is a not-for-profit organization that concentrates on the unique health needs of people age 50 and older. There are currently over 200,000 national members of the H2U organization, which is sponsored by the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
